Orthopaedics – Southwest Ambulatory Orthopaedic Centre

Day-case and short-stay orthopaedic surgery, including hip and knee replacements. Recognised as a national elective hub for excellence. The unit is a GIRFT Accredited, award winning, surgical hub designed to provide a safe and controlled environment for surgeries, ensuring optimal care for patients. The centre is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, innovative clinical pathways, experienced surgical teams and enhanced onsite medical cover. It also has enhanced safety protocols in place, including immediate access to emergency services and, in the rare event it is needed, the ability to transfer patients to our host Trust (The Royal Devon). Parking

There are no parking spaces available at Nightingale Hospital Exeter, however there are 6 spaces available for drop off. These are in constant use and cannot be parked in for longer than it takes to escort someone into the building.

Visiting Hours

Private inpatients and day-case patients may welcome one designated visitor on request. Most patients return home the same day however, so visits are not always practical.

Outpatients may be accompanied by a friend or family member to appointments.
